It also bears a long, oval fruit that can contain as much as 15 seeds. Ipil-ipil usually grows in tropical areas where it is not very cold. It can survive longer hot and dry seasons. It is very common in Philippines and Thailand. In Philippines, its adult stems are used to build huts and goats feed on its leaves. Some people eat its young seeds with no reason. In Thailand, Ipil-ipil leaves are served on the table as part of their daily meals. They usually served it in egg omelets and in vegetable salads.
